Pfc Wilbur Ramey was a filling station attendant.

He enlisted in Columbus, Ohio on 3 September 1943. He joined the unit from the 48th Replacement Battalion on 30 July 1944.

He was lightly injured in action and transferred to the 108th Evacuation Hospital on 15 August 1944. For this wound he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.
