1st Sgt Robert T. Hamilton enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 11 January 1941. He joined his unit on 18 August 1944.He made some quick promotions. When he joined his unit he still had the rank of a private. After promotions to Sergeant and Staff Sergeant in October 1944 he earned the rank of First Sergeant on 1 December 1944.
