Pvt William F. Shank enlisted in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana on 11 April 1944. He received his basic training at Camp Wheeler, Georgia and was sent overseas in December 1944.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Foy, Belgium.
