Pfc Woodrow M. Thompson graduated from Batesville High School and was employed as a postal clerk at the Batesville Post Office for nine years.

He enlisted at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas on 21 April 1944 and arrived in France on 22 January 1945.

Pfc Thompson was killed by small arms fire to the abdomen.
