More information
Pvt Charles A. Tallon worked for Trico Products in Buffalo, New York.He enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 17 April 1943.
On the photo, Pvt Tallon poses with the insignia of the a paratrooper on his garrison cap. For some reason he completed the paratrooper training but was transferred to an infantry regiment.
His grandparents immigrated from Ireland.
Note: The database of ABMC mentions Pvt Tallon as being a member of the 269th Infantry Regiment. This is a mistake. He was a member of the 259th Infantry Regiment. This is mentioned correctly on the Tablets of the Missing at Luxembourg Cemetery.
