Pfc William H. Ruddell attended high school for one year. He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 6 May 1942.
According to his Hospital Admission Card Files, Pfc Ruddell was in hospital several times before his death. In February due to frostbite, in May due to poisoning, and in June again for frostbite and food poisoning so it’s not clear which caused his death.
