Pvt Edward C. Plancey attended high school for four years and worked as a stock clerk at the Pullman Company in Jersey City.He enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 7 January 1942.
Pvt Plancy was married to his high school sweetheart, Thelma Morris, on 3 October 1941.
He was killed by a landmine while he was riding in a vehicle.
