T/5 Roy F. Shultz agraduated from William Penn High School in 1935 and was employed at York Safe and Lock Company. He also worked in the machine shop of the Dental Supply Company at the Grantley Hall College in York.

He enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 28 May 1942.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the arm and side of his body.
