S/Sgt Benjamin E. Randall Jr. was a painter before he enlisted in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 21 July 1942 and went overseas in July 1944.

He was reported seriously wounded in action on 21 September when the 2nd Battalion moved from Bezaumont to the Bois de la Rumont in the vicinity of Millery, France.
