S/Sgt Leroy Watkins graduated from Larksville High School.

He enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 10 June 1943.

S/Sgt Watkins was reported wounded in action in September 1944, and again on 11 November 1944.

He had two brothers in the service, Thomas with the Engineers in Kentucky and Russell in England.
