T/4 Alfonso Garcia attended high school for one year and was a musician in the Juanita's Rumba Band before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 27 March 1941.

He joined his unit from the 38th Replacement Battalion on 15 February 1945.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments to the head.
