Cpl Frederick E. Scheidt was graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and was working for the U.S. Government as a civil engineer.He enlisted in New York City, New York on 10 November 1942. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at Stanford University.
