S/Sgt Jerre M. Algeo was married to Glady Cole on 9 November 1933.He enlisted on 1 October 1942 and was sent overseas on 1 July 1943.
The bomber was shot down by enemy fighters. Eight crew members survived and were taken prisoner; two men were killed.
The aircraft crashed in a canal in Gorinchem.
S/Sgt Algeo's remains were recovered on 17 August 1943 and initially buried at the cemetery of Schelluinen.
