Sgt Charles W. Davis attended Myrick High School for 2 years and worked on the family farm and was employed at the Masonite Corporation before he enlisted in Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 9 July 1943 and went overseas on 11 May 1944.

Charles's life would sadly be taken as well, as he died in action in 22 November 1944. He suffered an explosion in which the lower half of his body was completely shattered.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
