Pvt William C. Czapp was a mechanic and repairman of motor vehicles before he joined the Regular Army in Jersey City, New Jersey 27 September 1940.He died in a hospital due to the effects of artillery shell fragments to his face and forearm.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.
