T/5 Harold D. Clifford graduated from Rahway High School and attended Rutgers University for one semester and graduated from the American Institute of Banking. He was employed by the First National Bank of Carteret and the Carteret Trust Company.He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 23 November 1942.
T/5 Clifford was taken prisoner and was imprisoned at Stalag VII-A in Moosburg and der Isar. He died at 00.25 hrs in the Reserve Hospital in Haag im Oberbayern from a bullet wound in the right lower leg, severe bilateral inflammation of the lungs and heart-failure.
