Pfc Paul V. Hagen was an electrician with the Crucible Steel Company before he joined the National Guard in Scranton, Pennsylvania on 17 February 1941.He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for helping a severely wounded soldier while his unit was pinned down by devastating enemy mortar and artillery fire.
He was wounded in action near Sevenich, Germany on 13 September 1944 and don 20 September 1944 in France.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.
