T/5 John A. Kennett was employed as a supervisor in the Pittsburgh Post Officebefore he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 19 February 1943 and received basic training at Camp Robinson.

He was taken prisoner and died of his wounds, probably in a German field hospital. The location is not known.

He was initially buried at Frankfurt Mausoleum Cemetery, Germany
