Sgt Raymond Richard Uhler worked in a factory that produced electrical machinery before he enlisted on 28 January 1944 in Cleveland ,Ohio.The airplane was attacked by a ME 262 jet. Two engines were set on fire and it dived away from the formation. The airplane then nosed up with the tail falling off and fell down spinning. One parachute was seen. Six crew members were taken prisoner, four were killed.
Sgt Uhler was trapped in the ball turret that was damaged by enemy shell fire. His body was seen on the ground along side of the plane.
