S/Sgt Benjamin J. Parente attended high school for three years and was employed at the Yale & Towne Manufacturing Company before he enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 23 November 1942.

He was officially declared dead one year and one day after he was reported missing in action. At that time his unit was fighting in the vicinity of Ehingen, Germany.
