2nd Lt Harry D. Ward graduated from Louisville High School.After receiving his wings in February 1944, he was sent overseas in May 1944.
Aircraft 42-50617 was hit by flak over the target. The aircraft immediately began to lose altitude and the right wing broke into flames. A Fw 190 got on his trail and strafed the ship, and aircraft went into steep dive and crashed.
