Elmer R. Olson gradauted from Morrisville High School.He enlisted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 1 February 1943. after basic training in Miami he attended the Air Corps Radio School in Chicago, Scott Field, Illinois and Las Vegas.
He was married to Lucile Reiter when he was stationed at Maren Field, California in March 1944.
The plane was hit by rockets fired by JU-88's and set fire to the it. Electric system was shot out so there was no more intercommunication. The plane blew up.
