1st Lt Marion E. Fletcher graduated from Anderson High School in 1937.

He was employed in the repair shop of the Delco-Remy Plant No. 1 until he enlisted in August 1941. He was prominent as a baseball player.

Shortly after target with drawal, ship was attacked by German fighters and fell behind the formation.
