Aircraft 42-50617 was hit by flak over the target. The aircraft immediately began to lose altitude and the right wing broke into flames. A FW 190 got on his tail and strafed the ship, and aircraft went into steep and crashed.He bailed out of the aircraft, but failed to properly secure his parachute. When the parachute canopy deployed, it was ripped from his person, and he fell to his death.
