T/Sgt Richard M. Sagers worked on a farm.

He enlisted in Portland, Oregon on 2 October 1942.

At bombs away the airplane was hit by flak in the bomb bay and right wing and immediately bursted in to flames. The right wing came off. The tail assembly disintegrated and the aircraft apparently disintegrated also. Five crew members were taken prisoner, six were killed. They were initally buried at the community cemetery of Altwarmbüchen on 27 November 1944.
