More information

2nd Lt Edward A. Fox enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 16 July 1941.

A/C 41-28599 was shot down over San Quentin, France. Five men were able to bail out prior to the crash. Three of the five crew members who stayed on board were killed in the crash.

Statement of S/Sgt Harris: "The bomb bay doors were jammed and shot up so they could not be opened, as I had been working on them, trying to kick them out or get them open some way so we all could get out. And that was the last I remembered until I came to in the fire. How I got out, I can't remember."
