T/5 Leroy D. Anderson attended Schenley High School and was employed by the Mutual Laundry Company, Homewood.

He enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 2 April 1942. He had been overseas since December 1942 and was already a veteran of the African, Sicilian and Italian campaigns.

He died in an American military hospital in Germany.
