S/Sgt Lester S. Look Jr. joined the Regular Army in Bangor, Maine on 14 October 1940.

The airplane was attacked by fighters above the target and crashed at Buurse. He was found dead on the ground, badly crushed by the impact of the landing in his parachute. According to a German report, he broke his neck when he landed.

In a statement, 1st Lt Harold J. Wolosin, the navigator of the crew, declared that S/Sgt Look shot down three enemy fighters during the mission.
Together with other cassualties of several crashes in the area that day, S.Sgt Look was first buried at Haaksbergen in grave 21 on 13 October 1943.
S/Sgt Look replaced the regular bombardier on this mission.

He is also remembered at the Great Hill Cemetery in Columbia Falls, Washington County, Maine.

His brother Robert E. Look is also buried at Margraten.
