2nd Lt Warren P. Mosegard enlisted at San Francisco, California, on 31 December 1941.At 1515, fighters with rocket guns attacked formation. Two B-17s, 2nd Lt Starnes ship and A/C 42-3328, collided in midair after one was hit by a rocket. Planes seemed to explode.
Of A/C 415 nine crew members were killed.
Their bodies were interred initially at the Protestant Cemetery in Burgsteinfurt, Germany.
One crew member survived the crash.
