Sgt Paul M. Akosevich graduated from Roosevelt High School.He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Los Angeles, California on 26 October 1942.
The airplane collided in mid-air with another B-17 (42-102972). Nine crew members were killed, one was taken prisoner.
