Robert Knox attended college and was a salesman.He joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 17 July 1941.
The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters.
Four crew members were taken prisoner, six men were killed. They were initially buried at the Ehrenfriedhof of Eupen, Belgium on 19 August 1943.
The crew was on it's 6th mission, and the plane was on it's 11th.
