1st Lt William A. Terry worked as an electroplater.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Cleveland, Ohio on 31 March 1942.

The aircraft was shot down by a fighter, knocking of the tail part, taking the tail gunner with it. The hind part lied in a meadow near Brocksteck, the remaining parts crashed at Brockstreck near Stromborg-Estate and was destroyed by an explosion of its own bombs.

Three crew members were taken prisoner, seven were killed and initially were interred in the Lutheran Cemetery at Quakenbrück.

1st Lt Terry bailed out but it appeared that he had bailed out without a parachute.
