2nd Lt Clifford L. Gowen graduated from Harrisburg High School and attended college and was a clerk.

He volunteered for the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in Chicago, Illinois on 23 September 1942.

Their aircraft was shot down by German fighters near Haselünne. The entire crew was killed. attended high school for 4 years and was a painter (construction and maintenance).

The pictures were taken in high school in 1939.
