Pfc Robert E. Ware graduated from Morrison High School and was employed at the Newport News Shipyard and Dry Dock Company in the brass gallery machine shop before he enlisted in Richmond, Virginia, on 12 July 1944. He was sent overseas in December 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his head.
