1st Sgt Emmette B. Carter attended Dobyns Bennet High School and was employed at Tennessee Eastman Corporation.He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Roanoke, Virginia on 27 April 1942. He was sent overseas in August 1944.
He was killed by small arms fire to the head.
