Pfc Charles M. Carr attended Portland High School for two years and was a messenger before he enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 1 May 1944.He died on 2 March 1945 in an army hospital in Germany as a result of wounds to the head received the previous day in Luxembourg.
