More information

Pfc Theodore Moronczyk was employed by the Buhp Stamping Company.

He received the Silver Star for gallantry in action. The citation reads: "In an advance against Langerscheid Hill, Luxembourg, on 13 January 1945, the attacking rifle company in which Pvt Moronczyk served as a rifleman was temporarily delayed by fire from an unobserved enemy machine gun. Crawling through field studded with anti-personnel mines and in which mortar and artillery shells were landing, Pvt Moronczyk proceeded to within twenty yards of the enemy positions from where he effectively threw hand grenades into the gun pit, destroying the gun and the crew."

He was killed by artillery blast effects.
