Pfc Joseph E. Kehoe graduated from Draper High School and was employed at American Locomotive Company before he enlisted in Albany, New York on 14 April 1942.

Seeing a wounded comrade who had fallen in direct line of fire from a nearby enemy machinegun, Pfc Kehoe with utter disregard for his own safety, started crawling to the aid of the wounded man. In so doing, he was instantly killed. For this action he was awarded the Silver Star Medal posthumously.

His brother, 1st Lt John W. Kehoe, is buried next to him at Plot D, Row 2, Grave 4.
