Pvt Raymond L. Green attended high school for four years and was a driver before he enlisted in Clarksburg, West Virginia on 4 January 1944.

He was reported wounded in action on 9 October 1944 and died on 15 October 1944 to the effects of a gunshot.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
