Pvt Clarence E. Keefner was a student before he enlisted in Huntington, West Virginia on 30 June 1944.

On 19 January, G Company was dug in, in the vicinity of Ettelbruck. A patrol with 2 officers and 33 enlisted men was sent out at 2400. The patrol encountered a mine field at 0200 and suffered a number of casualties. Probably Pvt Keefner was one of the casualties.
