Pvt Frank E. Haynes was employed at the Percy Kent Bag Co. before he enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 8 May 1944. He trained at Camp Hood, Texas and Fort Benning, Georgia.
He was reported seriously wounded in action by artillery shell fragments in his head on 23 December when the 2nd Battalion took positions in the vicinity of the road Niederfeulen – Ettelbruck in Germany.
