T/Sgt Theodore C. Roland was employed at Chevrolet Motor & Axle Corp. before he enlisted on 5 September 1942 in Buffalo, New York.The airplane was forced to ditch in the English Channel. As the airplane hit the water, it buckled at the radio room and immediately began to sink.
