Edward F. Mc Groarty attended Kingston High School. He was a storekeeper at the Middletown air depot.He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Miami Beach, Florida on 2 February 1943 and was commissioned in March 1944. He was sent overseas on 21 October 1944.
The aircraft was hit by flak right after the turn at the IP. The airplane left the group and was not seen again.
Eight crew members were killed. They were initially buried at the cemetery of Böhmerswold. One crew member was taken prisoner.
