Joseph Cisar graduated from Scott High School in 1935He joined the Regular Army in 1937, and after two years, he returned to civilian life. However, in 1939, when war threatened, he enlisted again. Lt Cisar was transferred to the Air Force in 1942. He graduated from the Blytheville Army Air Field in Arkansas in 1943, where he was commissioned a second lieutenant.
The aircraft was last seen in formation over the target.
