Harold Schrader worked in a warehouse.

He enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 29 July 1942.

Due to cloud cover over the primary target, the different bomber groups attack targets of opportunity.

The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters.

Eight crew members bailed out and were taken prisoner. two men were killed. They were initially buried at the Evangelic Cemetery of Quakenbruck, Germany on 29 June 1943.

He was hit by machine gun fire in the mid section but was able to bail out by himself. His parachute was still on him and appeared as though it had never opened right.
