James Blick attended college for one year.He enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 6 April 1942.
Due to cloud cover over the primary target, the different bomber groups attack targets of opportunity.
The airplane was attacked by enemy fighters.
Eight crew members bailed out and were taken prisoner. two men were killed. They were initially buried at the Evangelic Cemetery of Quakenbruck, Germany on 29 June 1943.
T/Sgt Blick was hit in the head and died in the plane.
