S/Sgt William R. Mc Ginnis enlisted at Camp Dodge, Iowa on 17 October 1942.

The airplane was hit by flak in the area of Trier, Germany, damaging the entire nose. It crashed in Schmithof-Aachen, Germany.

According to his sister, S/Sgt Mc Ginnis was declared dead 21 August 1945.

His body was found three years later in Eupen, Belgium. Most likely S/Sgt Mc Ginnis was blown out of the airplane when it was hit.
