Bert Barnett graduated from Monroe High School and was a clerk at the Defender Photo Supply Co.He volunteered for the Army of the United States on 8 September 1942 in Rochester, New York.
His father, who served as a Lieutenant in the Merchant Marine, died of a heart attack at sea on 16 January 1945.
The airplane was shot down by flak over the target. The entire crew of eight men was killed.
