More information

Cpl Harvey N. White enlisted on 16 September 1940 in Parkton, North Carolina.

A letter to his parents from Maj Gen Edward F. Witsell, acting adjutant general of the army, stated: The record concerning your son show that he was a passenger in the plane Clay Pigeon, which left England 17 September 1944, on a mission of undisclosed destination. The plane was shot down by enemy flak near Eindhoven in southern Holland. All the passengers bailed out, but no one is known to have seen your son after the jump.
