Sgt Albert C. Smith volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina on 4 August 1942. He attended high school for 2 years and was a salesman before he joined the army.

He was killed by a sniper near the Wilhelmina Canal at Son.
